About the Role
Destination Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Islington. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them access learning in a positive and nurturing environment. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider support staff to provide tailored support that meets individual pupil needs.
The role may involve 1:1 or small group support, assisting pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional, and mental health challenges. The school has a strong inclusive ethos and values teamwork, patience, and commitment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans.
• Assist pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion within the classroom.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for inclusive education.
• Relevant SEN training or qualifications are desirable but not essential.
