SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School – East Finchley

About the Role
Destination Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in East Finchley. This full-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them access learning in a nurturing and structured environment. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider support team to provide tailored support that meets individual pupil needs.
The role may involve supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, assisting children with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional, and mental health challenges. The school values inclusive practice and provides a supportive setting for both pupils and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
• Assist pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote inclusion within the classroom.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for inclusive education.
• Relevant SEN training or qualifications are desirable but not essential.
