About the Role
Destination Education is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive, and well-supported Primary School in East Finchley. This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone passionate about working with children and supporting their learning, confidence, and wellbeing. You will be working across EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2 depending on the needs of the school, assisting both the class teacher and pupils throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities will include helping with classroom activities, providing 1:1 or small-group support, preparing learning materials, and encouraging positive behaviour. The school has a strong community feel, excellent leadership, and a commitment to staff development—making it an ideal environment for someone looking to build experience in education.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils during lessons, group activities, and independent work
• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
• Help create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
• Provide 1:1 support for pupils who may need additional guidance
• Support core subjects including reading, phonics, writing, and numeracy
• Get involved with school events, enrichment activities, and wider school life

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3) are helpful but not essential
