Are you a dedicated and strategic SENCO with a passion for inclusive education and ensuring every student can succeed?
We are seeking a qualified teacher with QTS and a strong commitment to SEND provision to join our excellent secondary school in Ilford as SENCO. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape high‑quality provision, support vulnerable learners, and work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to make a real difference.
As SENCO, you will:
- Lead and manage SEND provision across the school in line with the SEND Code of Practice
- Identify, assess, and support students with a range of additional needs, ensuring appropriate provision and progress
- Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), EHCPs, and support strategies
- Work closely with teaching staff to promote inclusive, high‑quality classroom practice
- Line‑manage support staff and contribute to their professional development
- Liaise effectively with parents/carers, external professionals, and local authorities
- Advise senior leaders on SEND strategy and contribute to whole‑school improvement
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or is willing to complete it
- Has experience supporting students with a wide range of SEND at secondary level
- Demonstrates strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills
- Is committed to inclusive practice and high expectations for all learners
- Works collaboratively and contributes positively to school culture
