This is a class-based role, supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Speech & Language Difficulties, and Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
You’ll be working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver high-quality support within the classroom, helping pupils access the curriculum and develop essential life and learning skills. The school has a strong reputation for inclusion and a warm, supportive staff culture — making it an excellent environment for both professional growth and personal fulfilment. As a valued member of the team, you’ll be helping to create a calm and engaging learning space where every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated.
Key Responsibilities

- Adapt learning activities and materials to suit individual needs
- Implement strategies from EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans)
- Support the teacher in managing behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques
- Encourage independence, communication, and social skills through structured activities

- Promote inclusion and emotional well-being across the school community
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within a school setting
- Calm, patient, and adaptable approach to learning and behaviour
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for making a difference in children’s education and development
- Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach, PECS, or Makaton) are desirable but not essential
