About the Role
Destination Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Primary School Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced primary school in Chelmsford. This full-time role is ideal for a confident teacher who is passionate about early Key Stage 1 education and supporting pupils as they build strong foundations in their learning journey. The school has a nurturing ethos, supportive leadership, and a strong focus on high-quality teaching and pupil wellbeing.
You will take full responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering engaging lessons that support both academic progress and personal development, while working closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum.
• Create a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing clear feedback and next steps.
• Differentiate lessons to support pupils of varying abilities and learning needs.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to parents’ evenings and staff meetings.
• Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS or equivalent.
• Has recent experience teaching in a UK primary school, ideally in Key Stage 1.
• Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Has excellent curriculum knowledge and the ability to differentiate effectively.
• Is committed to high expectations, pupil progress, and teamwork.
