ASD Teaching Assistant – SEN School – East FinchleyFull-Time | Term-Time Only | Immediate & September Starts Available
A welcoming and well-resourced SEN school in East Finchley is looking for a compassionate and proactive ASD Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder across primary and secondary age groups.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about special educational needs, autism support, and helping young people thrive both academically and socially.
The Role
You will:
- Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a 1:1 and small-group basis
- Assist with communication, emotional regulation, and classroom engagement
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Help implement individual learning and behaviour strategies
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interaction
- Support pupils with sensory and emotional needs throughout the school day
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Patient, calm, and empathetic
- Passionate about SEN and inclusive education
- Experienced working with ASD, SEN, or young people (preferred but not essential)
- Confident supporting challenging behaviour when required
- A strong communicator and team player
- Available full-time during term time
