A specialist secondary SEN school in East Finchley is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Preparation for Adulthood Teacher to join their team from September. This full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about equipping young people with the skills they need to thrive beyond school.

About the Role:
This is a varied and rewarding position focused on delivering a practical, engaging curriculum that prepares students for life after education. You will:

  • Plan and deliver Preparation for Adulthood lessons, including life skills, employability, community engagement, and independent living
  • Support students in developing confidence, communication, and social understanding
  • Incorporate real-life learning opportunities, including trips, work-related learning, and functional skills
  • Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies to support student progression
  • Play a key role in helping students transition successfully into further education, training, or employment

Who We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher or experienced SEN practitioner with a passion for life skills education
  • Essential experience working with autistic students
  • Strong understanding of SEN and strategies to support communication, behaviour, and independence
  • Creative, proactive, and able to deliver engaging, practical learning experiences
  • Committed to supporting students’ long-term outcomes beyond the classroom
