About the Role
Destination Education is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-resourced Primary School in Barnet. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and eager to become an integral part of a friendly and inclusive school community. You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, helping create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Your role will involve providing 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with daily classroom activities, preparing resources, and helping pupils of varying abilities reach their full potential. The school is known for its supportive staff, strong leadership, and commitment to professional development—making it a fantastic setting to grow your experience and skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually, in small groups, and during whole-class sessions
• Assist the class teacher with classroom organisation and lesson preparation
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupil engagement
• Support pupils with additional learning needs when required
• Help with reading, phonics, writing, and numeracy activities
• Take part in school activities, enrichment programmes, and events

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with children in a school or childcare environment
• A positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach to learning support
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A genuine passion for helping young learners thrive
• Relevant TA qualifications (CACHE Level 2/3) are desirable but not essential
