About the Role
Destination Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive Primary School in Newham. This full-time role is perfect for someone who loves working with children and wants to support their academic, social, and emotional development. You will be working across EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2 depending on the school’s needs, providing support that helps pupils stay engaged, confident, and motivated in the classroom.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting classroom activities, offering 1:1 or small group intervention, helping to prepare resources, and assisting the class teacher in creating a positive and well-managed learning environment. The school is known for its friendly staff, excellent leadership, and strong focus on pupil wellbeing, making it a fantastic place to grow and develop your experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to pupils during lessons, group work, and independent activities
• Assist the teacher with classroom organisation and resource preparation
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, inclusive classroom
• Support pupils with varying abilities and learning needs
• Assist with reading, phonics, writing, and numeracy activities
• Participate in enrichment opportunities, school events, and wider school life

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
• A positive, patient, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passionate about supporting children’s learning and development
• Relevant TA qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3) are a bonus but not essential
