About the Role
Destination Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Walthamstow. This full-time position is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them thrive both academically and socially. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider support team to ensure pupils receive tailored support that meets their individual needs.
The role may involve providing 1:1 support or working with small groups, assisting pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school promotes a nurturing environment and values teamwork and collaboration to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support the implementation of EHCPs and personalised learning plans.
• Assist pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
• Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive classroom environment.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs.
• Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school setting.
• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting inclusive education.
• Relevant SEN training or qualifications are desirable but not essential.
